neena gill MEP
Neena was first elected to the European Parliament in 1999, the UK’s first Asian female MEP and re-elected in June 2004 to represent the West Midlands Region.
Prior to becoming a Member of the European Parliament, Neena was Chief Executive of ASRA and the Newlon Housing Group. Neena still maintains an interest in Social housing issues and sits on the Urban Housing intergroup in the European Parliament.
Neena is fluent in several Asian languages, Italian and is currently working hard on her French and German. This has proved invaluable in promoting trade links with South Asia as part of her work as President of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with India, which she was elected to in 2007.
