Where next?
Where next for Labour?
Following Gordon Brown’s resignation, there will be an election to fill the position of Leader of the Labour Party.
Over the summer, there will be an important debate about the future of the Labour Party. Unions Together will be making sure that the views and concerns of trade union members are firmly on the agenda during the Leadership election – and that, whatever the outcome of the ballot, we work together to build a fighting fit Labour Party that speaks up for ordinary working people, and that can take on the Liberal-Tory Coalition in opposition and at the ballot box.
We’ll be asking candidates tough questions, offering them the chance to find out first hand the realities faced by union members at work, and giving union members the chance to let them know what the issues are that matter.

Ask the questions
Every week of the leadership election, we'll be asking all the candidates to answer a key question on union matters. As the campaign progresses, we’ll keep each candidate’s page uptodate with the answers they have given. If you have a question you'd like us to ask, email it to info@unionstogether.org.uk and we'll put some of your questions forward. Click here to see the questions we're putting forward.
Voting in the election
If you pay into the political fund of a trade union that is affiliated to the party you’ll get the chance to vote in the affiliated organisations section of the ballot. Labour Party members also get to vote in the Party members’ section of the ballot. You can help shape Britain’s progressive future by joining the Labour Party and casting your vote as a Party member too. Click here to join the Labour Party.
