MEP candidate meets with BFAWU members

On Wednesday 13th May, Theresa Griffin, prospective MEP candidate for the Labour Party, visited Burtons Foods, Blackpool and Park Cakes, Bolton, to meet with management and members of the B.F.A.W.U. Theresa spoke to management and union representatives about the issues facing food manufacturers and workers. In a frank discussion, she identified a number of possible areas that could be beneficial to both employer and employees which she intends to take forward to various bodies within the North West. Members also took the opportunity to raise a number of questions in relation to the forthcoming Euro elections during the visit.
Theresa also visited the Park Cake LearningCentre where she met a number of learners who were beneficiaries of some of the work that has been done through the European Parliament through various funding initiatives. Speaking to members after the visit, they commented how she had seemed very enthusiastic about their issues and concerns.
Theresa is the trade union endorsed candidate standing in the North West who will be taking forward many of the issues that concern workers across the region.
