With conference fast approaching we wanted to let you know about the events that TULO will be holding.
On Sunday TULO, along with the trade union group of MPs, will be hosting the TULO/TUG Reception, in the Midland Hotel. The reception is open to all delegates and will feature music from Chris T-T who is currently working with Love Music Hate Racism. The reception will be hosted by Tony Lloyd MP, Chair of the Trade Union Group of MPs, and your speakers will include Tony Dubbins, Trade Union Chair of TULO and a very special guest.
Our second event will be held on the Tuesday lunchtime, in the Midland Hotel. The event is a fringe meeting entitled, “Your Party, Your Future - Party Funding and the Link”. Tony Dubbins will chair the meeting and our panel will include Hazel Blears MP Labour Party Chair of TULO, Tony Lloyd MP, Chair of the Trade Union Group of MPs & Prof Keith Ewing of King’s College, London.
The fringe meeting will discuss party funding and the Labour Party/Trade Union link. For more information please view the TULO submission to the Labour Party consultation on party funding here.
Finally, I would also like to publicise some events from some other organisations that you may be interested in attending.
1. Thompson’s Solicitors Fringe Meeting, Monday 12.00 - 14.00, Radisson Hotel - Peel Room, “Injury with impunity: acceptable in today's society?” Speakers to be confirmed.
2. The Socialist Societies of the Labour Party are hosting a pre-Conference Policy Forum with Rt Hon Hazel Blears MP, Chair of the Labour Party, as the keynote speaker.
This intimate event will take place in Manchester on Saturday 23 September, from 1-6pm, and will be a great opportunity to exchange information and discuss Labour’s future policies with a range of ministers, NEC and National Policy Forum members.
I strongly encourage you to come along if you can, and meet a cross-section of leading activists and learn about other sections of the Party.
