Each Constituency Labour Party can appoint a Trade Union Liaison Officer at its AGM. The role of these Constituency Liaison Officers is to build the link between the local Party and local union branches and workplace union representatives. This work can be conducted not just in the Key Seats at election times but in every seat, all year round.
Traditionally, this group of volunteers has been an underdeveloped network so the National TULO Office is continuing its training programme during 2005/6 to help these Officers strengthen the Link locally.
If you would like to know more about what a trade union Liaison Officer’s can do to build links between local unions and the constituency, please click here for the TULO Handbook.
